Did you know that there are many different kinds of wrecks? We know the most about historic and military wrecks because maritime archaeologists can examine the historical information preserved in the wrecks. Military wrecks are especially useful to historians because they offer details about historic military confrontations. Many archaeologists and marine biologists also like exploring wrecks for environmental benefits like spurring reef growth and recovering lost data.
